SANTO DOMINGO.– The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) announced the relaunch of the “Park Well” regulation and enforcement program, which will continue operating in the sectors already implemented (Naco, Piantini, Paraíso and Serallés), with the purpose of promoting mobility and road safety.
The announcement was made by Intrant's executive director, Milton Morrison, at the closing of National Sustainable Mobility Week 2024, which covered the pedestrianizationof the Naco expansion.
“As a matter of state continuity, knowing that the program has lagged behind in recent times, we are announcing the relaunch of 'Parquéate Bien', with a series of new features at the request of the Neighborhood Council of Ensanche Naco,” Morrison said.
He reported that the new developments range from an increase in cranes, the number of vehicles towed daily, the assignment of fixed units per sector, night operations from Thursday to Saturday, extension of operating hours, presence of cranes at critical points during the night, to the integration of Neighborhood Councils.
For his part, Valentín Ramos, president of the Ensanche Naco Neighborhood Association, thanked Intrant for its receptiveness to proposed solutions for the city's traffic problems, while indicating that the challenge of promoting sustainable mobility is everyone's responsibility.
National Sustainable Mobility Week 2024
From September 22 to 29, the seventh edition of the National Sustainable Mobility Week was celebrated, with the aim of promoting the benefits of using more sustainable transport such as public transport, bicycles, walking and also providing information on the current Integrated Public Transport System (Metro- Cable Car- Public and private bus corridors-Bicycles).
